Kit list

Below is basic list of what you should now be carrying in your own pack ( or wearing ) on club runs, and we’ll be doing random kit checks – no kit, no run...

Winter kit:

  • Headtorch and spare batteries
  • Waterproof jacket 
  • Base layer
  • An energy snack
  • A space blanket
  • A hat or buff (of the body heat you lose 70% of it is through the head!)
  • Gloves
  • Your mobile, with leader's number! Should you get separated from the pack, this is your primary means of finding them!
  • A whistle
  • Some water if you think you'll get thirsty
  • Also, eye protection is a sensible and recommended precaution. Clear safety glasses will protect you from low branches, brambles or grit. All hazardous, all painful.

Summer kit:

  • Your mobile, with leader's number! Should you get separated from the pack, this is your primary means of finding them!
  • A whistle
  • Water or other hydration
  • Depending on time of run you might also want to carry and use: suncream, headcovering,  sunglasses, long sleeved top.
